With avian influenza and zoonotic diseases giving cause for concern we felt it worth including this aspect within a Bird Ringing website. Updates and links will build up a bank of guidance and links to other relevant organisations such as DEFRA and BTO. All ringers are licensed through the BTO to enable them to ring wild birds for scientific study.
