In April this year Kate and I joined a team of UK based ringers for their annual Spring ringing activities at Lotan Kibbutz in the Arava valley in Southern Israel.
The Kibbutz is located in the arid Arava desert and is on the border with Jordan, the lack of vegetation means that areas of scrub and water are magnets for migrating birds, and the irrigated areas of the Kibbutz are host to many species as a stopover and feeding area on their Northwards spring Migration.
